Punch Drunk Cabaret is an award winning festival favourite that specializes in rockabilly swing for the 21st century. Their signature steampunk style combines vintage rockabilly swing with modern, stadium-rock energy, resulting in an unforgettable show that leaves the audience feeling as if Stray Cats, Green Day, and Tom Waits were on the same bill.
With their unmistakable steampunk inspired look, Punch Drunk Cabaret features a rhythm section like no other, complete with stand-up drummer, Capt. Sean E. Watts, and bassist, Twotone Teddy Roy who doubles on both electric and upright bass. Add to that, frontman Bandmeister Randy B's gravel-throated vocals and howling Gretsch guitar and you have a sound and style that's truly all its own.
The band's set list features a winning mix of originals you swear you've heard before and cover songs like you've never heard before, including 80's hits such as "Sweet Dreams (are made of this)" radically reinvented as 30's styled, guitar driven swing. The result is a formula that resonates with an incredibly wide range of music fans, encompassing roots, blues, and rock.
2017 was a landmark year for the band, playing a record number of shows, receiving an Edmonton Music Award and performing at Canada's largest steampunk event, the Grand Canadian Steampunk Exposition, all proving that Punch Drunk Cabaret continues to be a one-of-a-kind act on the rise.
