The National Parcs
Hey yo! JazzFest takes a stroll through
the land of Hip Hop and Grime, electronic
groove and Baile Funk. It’s all about
the feel, about music that speaks, about
improvisation and expression. And these
three young Canadian free formers will
take you where you’ve never been before.
Combining video with the sampled
sounds of nature and everything from
Hip Hop to funk to Afrobeat and Mailan
Blues, National Parcs is geared towards an
18-30 year old crowd, but will appeal to
anybody with an open mind to the limitless
possibilities of creativity.
National Parcs is Vincent Letellier,
Chimwemwe Miller and Ian Cameron.
All three have spent time in Africa and
this is apparent in their rhythms. Their live
performances are stunning, and use video
footage together with sounds collected
from nature. Everything from sticks clicking
to ice cracking and water gurgling are
combined with bottle blowing, intelligent
vocals, and computer-generated grooves
to create a contemporary musical experience
like none other.

Grand Analog
Grand Analog is unbalanced and
dirty; never clean. Grand Analog is
fuzzy with three coats of dust and
reads like an old manual no longer
in use. The music is a beautiful mess
of rap’n’roll dub and soul; a hip-hop
slop shop of times good and bad.
Calligraffiti, the debut album, is now
available in stores and online.
Created in 2006, the Grand Analog
Project is fronted by Odario G.
Williams on vocals and percussion.
Varying members include Ofield K.
Williams as DJ, Catalist on keys,
Warren Bray on bass and Damon
Mitchell on guitar.
“Calligraffiti is stocked with some
of the thickest, sweatiest beats you’ll
ever want your ears to drudge
through…” – okayplayer.com
